Maureen McQuerry is an award-winning author, poet and educator. Booklist describes her fiction as “Evocative of The Dark Is Rising and Neil Gaiman.”
Her books for children and young adults have been finalists for the Washington State Book Award, YALSA and Bank Street Best Books, Booklist Top Ten SF-Fantasy for Youth and winner of the Westchester Award. Her poetry can be found in literary journals.
As an educator she was the McAuliffe Fellow for Washington State and specialized in gifted education. She is also a popular workshop presenter in the Pacific Northwest.
Writing from an island near Seattle, she’s a hopeful gardener, an avid hiker, intrepid traveler and always looking forward to the next adventure with her amazing family.
